Karl Renz was born in 1953 as a farmer's son in the Weserbergland. Trained as a farmer, then an artist. Since 1980 he lives as a musician and painter in Berlin and the Canary Islands. At the end of the seventies he had a first death experience, the realization of immortality. In the awareness of this followed years of migraine and painful physical changes. Until even in the last cell of the body of consciousness the eternal Now, timelessness became a reality: 'Pure light flowed explosively through the back of my head and filled my entire perception.' In the absolute acceptance of what is, time ceased. There remained the knowledge that what I am is before time.'
